Bring Everyone Together to Give: Start a Personal Fundraising Campaign
This holiday season is just around the corner, and we invite you to kick it off with us on Giving Tuesday, November 28th!
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving back. On the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, people around the world will come together to celebrate generosity and make an impact. This year, help us move towards a world free of child sexual abuse. With your help, we can make this a reality.
In fact, you can be part of a special group of ambassadors who will help raise funds that help children. Your support is critical…we can’t change children’s lives without you! That’s why this Giving Tuesday we’re inviting you to raise funds to protect children, and it’s as simple as creating your own fundraising page and reaching out to your network to ask for support. You just have to decide that you want to make a difference!
Throughout this blog series, we’ll help you get your campaign set up, give you tips for asking your friends, family, and contacts for support, and give you the encouragement you need in the final push to Giving Tuesday!
First things first. You need to set up a campaign. There are lots of sites where you can do this, but to help you decide we’re recommending three. Your campaign site will be the main place where you direct your supporters. It’s where you’ll share your story and why you connect with the mission of ending child sexual abuse. You’ll be able to keep track of your progress and see how close you are to your goal. Let’s take a closer look at three different fundraising sites.
Facebook is a simple place to get started with fundraising. If you’re on Facebook, chances are your family and friends are, too. This makes sharing your fundraiser simple.
Not on Facebook? No worries. Using everydayhero can make your fundraising experience a great one by connecting you with technology that makes giving easy for your supporters.
CrowdRise is the world’s largest and fastest-growing fundraising platform dedicated exclusively to charitable giving. CrowdRise is used by millions of individuals to raise money for their favorite charities and causes.
Darkness to Light is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID 57-1095108)
