John Walsh, a former Darkness to Light Voice of Courage Award recipient, gave an interview with Anne Curry on Today this morning discussing America’s child protection policies.
“I think the safety of children should be as important as health care. I think it’s time to educate parents and children [on child safety policies] in the schools.”
John, you’re completely right! It’s time that we emphasized child protection as a society and schools have an opportunity to take the lead. We’re proud to say that in South Carolina, over 19,000 teachers have been trained in Stewards of Children and now know how to prevent, recognize and respond to child sexual abuse!
