We know that many of you have been patiently waiting to hear about Darkness to Light’s much anticipated conference Ignite. Well, we’re here to tell you that this year’s conference will be even bigger and better, under a new name and partnership with the Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Envision will bring together diverse child advocates and organizations and will empower them to prevent child sexual abuse using a public health approach. Envision 2022 will focus on the importance of communication in preventing child sexual abuse because we feel that effective communication engages and empowers us to work together to keep kids safe from harm. The conference will be held virtually November 8th – 9th with a special pre-conference day for Darkness to Light Authorized Facilitators on Monday November 7th.

The Partnership

The Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is the only center housed within a research-intensive university focused solely on preventing child sexual abuse. They promote their mission via five critical areas of focus: research, education, communication, advocacy, and policy.

And of course you know Darkness to Light as a nonprofit organization with the mission to empower adults to prevent child sexual abuse. Through education and awareness, we seek to create a safer world for children to grow and thrive. Our flagship program, Stewards of Children®, is an award-winning training that teaches adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. More than 2 million adults including educators, youth serving professionals, organization volunteers, and community members have been certified in the program. Stewards of Children® is the only evidence-informed training of its kind, with the largest network of child protection advocates in the world as facilitators.

So, when you put these two thought leaders together, you end up with advanced training seminars and thought-provoking, interactive sessions led by some of the most respected experts in child protection.
