Equipping & Empowering: Take Action this Child Abuse Prevention Month

Categories: Featured Posts, General News

Last fall, during our Envision Conference, which was held in partnership with the Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, we were honored to have as our keynote, Anthony Edwards, Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award-winning Actor, Director, and Producer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of 1in6

We want to share that keynote address with you:

Anthony’s story reminds us that it is an adult’s responsibility to protect children.

Child sexual abuse is one of the most prevalent public health issues facing society today. Child sexual abuse can occur anywhere. It happens in places like homes, neighborhoods, schools, and youth sports environments, but it also occurs online, such as child pornography or communicating in a sexual manner by phone or internet.

Fortunately, Darkness to Light equips and empowers adults to build safe environments that protect children from sexual abuse, through trauma and evidence informed prevention education.

During Child Abuse Prevention Month, we have launched the NEW Stewards of Children® and are reauthorizing thousands of adults to help lead this “NEW Training for a NEW Generation.”

You can help us continue to create prevention-oriented communities where children live, learn and play by making a donation to Darkness to Light. Your donation provides vital support to our mission and will make it possible for another million adults to get trained.
