Tory brings extensive experience in community engagement, equity-focused initiatives, stakeholder collaboration, and program management. Most recently, she served in multiple leadership roles with the Tennessee Child Care Resource & Referral (CCRR), including Community Engagement Coordinator and Belonging & Equity/DEI Coordinator.

Tory Lang Biography

Tory is driven by a desire to eradicate injustice for all people, including and especially children. She loves to learn, grow, and connect in any space she finds herself. Tory has been a Stewards of Children® Authorized Facilitator since 2024 and a Certified Instructor since 2025. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Electrical and Computer Engineering and her master’s from Union University in Urban Education. She has over 10 years of experience in education and nonprofit work, and is passionate about justice and equity, middle schoolers, and BTS (방탄소년단).

You can find Tory engaging in local organizing work, watching a play or musical theater production, or climbing (indoors!) at the largest nonprofit climbing gym in the world.
 
What did you want to be when you were little?
An astronaut! I have always loved understanding how things work and problem-solving.
 
What is your favorite cuisine?
I enjoy supporting family-owned restaurants and experiencing foods from around the world, including all things dumplings, noodles, and seafood.
