Addie Askew Biography
Addie Askew is an attorney with extensive experience in criminal prosecution and child abuse cases. She earned her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2014, and began her career that same year at the Nashville District Attorney’s Office, where she served for nearly nine years as an Assistant District Attorney.
She served in the Domestic Violence Unit and Criminal Court Division II, and later became team leader of the Crimes Against Children Unit. As team leader, she supervised six Assistant District Attorneys and handled cases involving child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, and internet crimes against children. During her time as an Assistant District Attorney, she has tried more than 25 jury trials.
In 2023, Addie stepped back from full-time prosecution and provided consulting and pro bono services, including advising Vanderbilt University on criminal law matters. She returned to the DA’s Office part-time in 2024, and currently serves as the Office’s representative on Davidson County’s multidisciplinary child protective investigative team.
Outside of work, Addie enjoys life with her husband and their two young children.
