Cary Rayson

Cary is the Community Engagement Coordinator for Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee (PCAT). In this role she coordinates a collective of nonprofit organizations to disseminate and facilitate Stewards of Children®, an evidence-informed training designed to prevent and respond to child sexual abuse by increasing adult knowledge and changing adult behaviors. At PCAT Cary is also working to implement All Children Excel (ACE) Nashville, a collective impact initiative to reduce childhood adversity and promote individual, family and community health. Since coming to PCAT in 2014 she has also assumed grant writing,  public education and legislative advocacy responsibilities for the agency. 

Prior to coming to Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee Cary was the Executive Director of Magdalene, a long term residential community for women with a history of prostitution and addiction. She joined Magdalene in 1998, serving in a number of capacities on behalf of the organization including staff and board development, supervision, development and grant writing, strategic planning, community outreach and public education. Cary received her Bachelors of Arts from Vanderbilt University in 1982 and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 1986.
