Anton J. Gunn is the Chief Diversity Officer of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health Center where he is responsible for oversight and execution of the Medical Center’s diversity initiatives and innovative community health programs. Previously, he served as a senior official in the Obama Administration as the Director of External Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), where he advised President Barack Obama and Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on public engagement strategies to introduce Main Street to the Affordable Care Act. Anton was also a 2014 Resident Fellow at the Institute of Politics in the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
