Martha Tumblin, MEd, LISW-CP

Ms. Tumblin has 43 years of professional service as a consultant/trainer, educator, and psychotherapist specializing in addictive illness and family systems while working in substance abuse treatment centers, teaching hospitals, and higher education institutions.

In 2004, Ms. Tumblin retired from the faculty of MUSC Department of Family Medicine, where she coordinated the addictive illness curriculum and provided a clinical couseling practive for 20 years. Her current professional interests are focused on devleoping community-based child sexual abuse prevention initatives and training helping professionals in family systems dynamics and addictive illness disorders.

Ms. Tumblin began serving as a consultant to local community-based child sexual abuse initiatives in the late 1990’s that lead to the founding of Darkness to Light in 2000. She continues to contribute to D2L’s missions, including the initial 2004 development and 2013 update of D2L’s Stewards of Children® child sexual abuse prevention training. She is a Certifying Instructor and Authorized Facilitator for Darkness to Light.

At the Inaugural Darkness to Light Ignite 2017 Conference, Martha was recognized as the Instructor of the Year.
