Steve Collins serves a a regional prevention coordinator for the Georgia Center for Child Adocacy’s statewide child sexual abuse prevnetion initiative. The goal of this initiative is to trian 5% of the adult population in Stewards of Children®. Reaching 5% of the adult population is referred to as the tipping point. Steve works in a 13 county area. Currently, 4 of those counties have reached tipping point. Two counties have trained over 10% of the adult population. It is expected that at least 3 more counties will reach tipping point by the end of 2017.
In addition to his work with the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, Steve has his own non-profit called Adults Protecting Children, Inc. One of the primary foci of this organization is to help churches write and implement child protection policies. He has consulted with over 50 churches across the country. He has provided training internationally as well.
Steve has trained over 3,100 adults in Stewards of Children®. He also is a Certified Instructor for Darkness to Light and has certified over 280 people to facilitator Stewards of Children®. He is also a certified Prevent Now! Instructor for Darkness to Light.
