Springfield, MO – The Junior League of Springfield MO is paving the way for child sexual abuse prevention. New president, Susie Turner, is spearheading an initiative to implement D2L’s Stewards of Children training in the southwest Missouri.

Turner says, “Having a community of 600 trained volunteer women creates the ability to make an impact.” This project is part of the League’s larger mission of preventing child abuse and neglect.

Turner says the Junior League of Springfield—which will develop and facilitate the training sessions in partnership with the Ozarks Regional YMCA and The Victim Center—hopes it will help make a big impact on an issue that plagues not only our area (Greene County consistently appears near the top of Missouri’s domestic violence rankings) but the nation.
