Stewards of Children Distinctive Features
Feature 1:
Stewards of Children provides a complete sexual abuse prevention package that includes
- ready-to-go training for staff and volunteers
- available in both facilitator led and online formats
- guidelines in organizational policies and procedures
- evaluation tools
- on-going consultation
- 3rd party training created by experts in sexual abuse prevention
Feature 2:
The interactive workbook and training VHS/DVD include the simple principles of choice, consciousness, and personal power, and relentless compassion to motivate individuals to action.
Feature 3:
The program incorporates the "7 Steps to Protecting our Children," Darkness to Light's core, evidence-based educational tool for sexual abuse prevention. The booklet provides statistics and information about child sexual abuse, it’s prevention, and how to get help. Available in both English and Spanish.
Feature 4:
The program is an evidence-based practice that has been evaluated for its effectiveness in a wide range of organizations. Evaluations indicate that both the facilitator led and online formats are effective in increasing participants knowledge of child sexual abuse, changing attitudes and increasing adults’ protective behaviors towards children.

Survivor and professional perspectives are compelling and have a motivational impact on participants.
