Lyndon Haviland Appointed Interim CEO of Darkness to Light

Darkness to Light announced today that Lyndon Haviland has been appointed to serve as the organization’s interim CEO. Dr. Haviland is a member of D2L’s Board of Directors and is an experienced public health advocate with more than 25 years’ experience in managing both domestic and international public health initiatives.

Dr. Haviland has advised the philanthropic endeavors of some of the world’s largest health organizations, including the United Nations Foundation, the UN Department of Public Information, The World AIDS Campaign, the GAVI Alliance, the International AIDS Society and the American Public Health Association. She is a former fellow with the Aspen Institute’s Global Health and Development program, and served as the Chief Operating Officer for the American Legacy Foundation.

Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Haviland led the UN Secretary General’s Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health – an initiative accredited with saving more than 16 million lives and raising more than $40 billion in resources for women and children.

“As our search for a permanent CEO continues, we are thrilled to have someone of Dr. Haviland’s talents and experience to lead D2L during this transition,” said David Repinski, Chairman of the Board of D2L. “Her engagement will ensure our scheduled initiatives move seamlessly forward, including our spring event with Matt Sandusky and Jay Paterno.
