Anne Lee featured in People Magazine’s Heroes Among Us

Categories: Misc, News and Events, Other, Our Perspective

Our very own Anne Lee is featured in this week’s People Magazine’s Heroes Among Us sharing her story of abuse and how that led her to launching Darkness to Light.  Anne truly is a “hero among us” for her tireless efforts to protect children from the devastating effects of sexual abuse.  We are so proud of her!   Check out the feature on page 103 of the April 4th issue available on newstands now.

  1. Great to hear about heroes, but what about telling the public about predators we are supporting without knowing it. Curtis Johnson – a family owner in the S C Johnson company has just been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault on a minor. Every time we but S C Johnson products we are supporting this so called ” Family Company “. Boycott their products including Glade, Ziploc, Windex, Pledge – why should we support pedophiles and child molesters with our spending!

  2. Dear Anne,

My wife cut out the People’s Magazine article about you and the organization you started, “Darkness2Light.” She read it the same day I had just preached a sermon titled, “Exposing Darkness,” based on the letter to the Ephesians, ch.5 vv. 8-14. She gave me the article and said, “You gotta read this!” Thank you for your strength and vision. I was not aware of your organization prior to my sermon but am pleased that it is so comprehensive. On behalf of the many victims thank you and may God bless your work. Our churches would welcome you anytime if you’re ever in the area.

    Sincerely,

  4. Dear Anne –

I also ripped out the article in People Magazine – tracked down a local training in Washinton DC. I attended a Stewards For Children training this morning. The presenter was Michele Booth Cole, Executive Director of Safe Shores at the DC Childrens Advocacy Center. She facilitated a great training, that had me both concerned and inspired.

I am hoping to take it one step further and become a trainer myself for Stewards For Children. I just wanted to say Thank You, Anne for your mission, and for all you are doing to keep children safe. Count me in, to join you on this journey!

    Sincerely,
